The Ford SYNus is a three-door wagon that was first unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in the year 2005 as a concept model. This model was developed by the Spanish designer Jose Paris and Joe Bake. It has been powered by a turbocharged, 2.0 liter DOHC 4-cylinder Duratorq TDCi diesel engine that is able to generate about 134 hp along with a 5-speed manual transmission. The name of the vehicle which is pronounced sin-you-ehs has been taken from the words of synthesis which means Urban Sanctuary and it name in homophone of sinuous means curving or graceful. The Ford SYNus exterior design looks like an armadillo which was also the working name for this model. The vehicle is available with 18 inch wheels it also features IEEE 802.11g compliant wireless LAN hub. This model was specially designed to improve the safety for modern bank vaults. It also has windows frame that are bullet resistant and there is a large LCD monitor which has been installed at the back of the vehicles interior to display video feed. The Ford SYNus is available with a lockdown mode during which a steel shutters close around the front windshield, windows and exterior lights. The seats of the vehicle can be configured to face rearwards which can also help to watch movies or relax in hectic city life in this mode.
