

The 2011 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 is a racing version of the standard SLS AMG model. It is available with an AMG 6.3 liter V8 engine that is capable of producing about 600 hp and a 6-speed racing transmission along with sequential shift. The car is able to accelerate from 0-60 mph in about 3.7 seconds and it is capable of reaching a maximum speed of more than 186 mph. The engine has a dry sump lubrication which has an application of suction, pressure pump and an external oil tank. The 2011 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 is available with gullwing doors which displays a distinctly race car interior. It also has racing bucket seat along with a 6-point harness and HANS system which fixes the helmet in place in case of an accident. The other safety features include a steel roll cage which serves to further stiffen the aluminum spaceframe. The steering wheel has a quick-release mechanism which makes entry and exit to the vehicle very easy. The 2011 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 features a new front skirt along with enlarged air intakes, wing-shaped horizontal fins and brake discs. The hood has a central opening for extraction of heat from the engine and an extremely lightweight polycarbonate for side as well as rear windows. This model has been specially developed with FIA GT3 regulations which allow it to participate in all GT3 race series including Nurburgring in Germany and popular 24-hour races in Spa-Francorchamps.
