The 2012 Mini Rocketman Olympic is a special edition car that was first introduced at the Geneva Auto Show to celebrate the 2012 London Olympics. The car was specially designed to preview the future component and design ideas of the company. This model was just developed as a concept model and there are no ideas of putting it into production. It was specially made to welcome the athletes to London before the Games and showcase vision of future urban mobility. The car is just three meters long and it is available with seating configuration of 3+1. The 2012 Mini Rocketman Olympic fourth seat is expected to be the best choice for short trips only in terms of its dimensions. The car has been designed with the colors of the Union Jack along with red and white accents which contrasts the dominant dark blue both interior and exterior. One of the most highlighted features in this model is the glass roof bracing that runs diagonally, horizontally as well as lengthways and it is illuminated at night with optical fibers that gives the appearance of the Union Jack flag. The 2012 Mini Rocketman Olympic instrument panel is minimalistic which is available with a tiny transparent plastic arch along with a simple illuminated speed display. It also has few carbon elements that are visible all over that reminds the lightweight carbonfibre-reinforced plastic space frame construction. This model was kept under display at BMW Group pavilion near the Olympic and Paralympic Village.
