2011 BMW ConnectedDrive

The BMW ConnectedDrive is a two-seat roadster guise that was unveiled at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show as a concept model. The car features a layering principal in its design which shows the link between driver, passenger, vehicle and surrounding environment. The interior has been divided into three layers with first layer aimed at safety along with red light wrapping around the driver. The second layer includes safety layer and extends to the passenger cell promoting the active social exchange between driver and passenger which has been highlighted by the blue ribbon of light. The BMW ConnectedDrive final interior layer has been highlighted by a green light flow. The layering principal needs individual components to perform a number of roles which reflects on the headlights and rear lights along with integrated sensors that helps to monitor the traffic and external environment. The car is available with a long wheelbase that sets the seating position back along with its long bonnet which combines it with the taut surfaces as well as distinctive flowing lines. The BMW ConnectedDrive features a three-dimensional display for real view of virtual information which highlights the hazards while driving the car. It also features a freely programmable instrument cluster that gives additional information to the driver and it can be emphasized to a greater or lesser degree. The passengers will have their own information display for the first time with this model which will allow them get information, play music and navigation details.

2012 BMW M135i

The BMW M135i is a concept car that was introduced at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show and the production model is under testing. The car has been straight 6-cylinder petrol engine that is capable of producing about 300 hp along with a rear-wheel drive system and powerful sport suspension. The engine also features M Performance Twin Power Turbo technology which helps to produce more power output. It also been mated with a 6-speed manual transmission or a two eight-speed automatic transmission is available as optional. The BMW M135i is expected to have a body which has 30 mm longer wheelbase, 85 mm long, 17 mm wider along with wider track front and rear. The increased dimension offers more cargo area and legroom in the back of the car. The interior is available with either two or three rear seats. The back of the car has been designed with Dark Shadow apron that accommodates two chrome-dark tailpipes in typical x35i arrangement. Similar to the BMW M550d xDrive, this model also features a sport-tuned suspension along with M sport brakes. The BMW M135i is also available with a new set of 18 inch M light alloys along with a double spoke design and an aerodynamic body kit. The exterior has been colored with Estoril Blue metallic paint along with black door mirror caps and black outer air intakes. The car has been found testing and it is expected to enter into production very soon.

1956 BMW 507

The BMW 507 was available from 1956 to 1959 as a roadster and only 252 units were produced during its production period. The car was available with a 3168 cc V8, 16 valves engine that is capable of producing about 150 bhp at 5000 rpm and 236 Nm of torque along with a 4-speed manual transmission. It was able to reach from 0-60 mph in about 8.8 seconds along with a top speed of around 222 km/h. This model had a wheelbase of 2,480 mm, length of 4,380 mm, width of 1,650 mm, height of 1,275 mm and it had a weight of around 1170 kg. The BMW 507 had a front suspension with parallel double wishbones along with torsion bar springs and anti-roll bar. The rear suspension featured live axle along with torsion bars and it has been located by a Panhard rod and transverse A-arm which handles the acceleration n and braking forces. The car was expected to review the sporting image of the company, but they lost money on each of the model that was developed by them. The BMW 507 still remains one of the most important models for its attractive styling and it also attracted most of the buyers. This model had a similar design of the BMW 503 and its body was entirely hand-formed of aluminum. Most of the cars were available with hand-fabricated removable hardtop and each hardtop will fit only the car for which it has been made.
