The 2012 Chevy Corvette Daytona is a concept car that was first unveiled at the Daytona International Speedway. This model has been introduced to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the GRAND-AM Road Racing Series. The car is available with a 5.0-liter V8 engine that is capable of producing about 500 hp at 7,000 rpm. It was developed as a collaborative project which involved Chevrolet, Corvette Designers, Pratt & Miller and GRAND-AM. The concept design has been based on the MSA GTP Corvette which was revealed by the Hendrick Motorsports. The 2012 Chevy Corvette Daytona is also available with 4 rounded taillights, split rear window and unmistakable checkered-flag logo. This model will be used to race in the Grand-Am series. About 4 teams are expected to campaign the Chevy Corvette Daytona during this year. The design of the car includes iconic Corvette styling features and it will be recognized by the sports car enthusiasts. The 2012 Chevy Corvette Daytona has been under development for about 18 months to make it fit over all existing models and around 5 units have been created which will be used by the teams including Spirit of Daytona Racing, Action Express Racing and Gainsco/Bob Stallings Racing. The car received lot of attention from its competitors who were present at the event. The first model was delivered to Troy, the owner of Spirit of Daytona before it was officially launched. The Corvette has been into racing for many years till now.
