PORSCHE 911 GT2

Traditionally the scariest car in any given supercar group test is the Lamborghini, but not today. Today it’s the bulging Porsche 911GT2 that’s has my nerves tensed so tight I hear a creaking noise every time I move my arms. It’s the GT2 that seems me so hesitant on the pedals its giving me in growing toenails. In the pouring rain, driving as fast as I can, this car feels sensitive, severe, analogue and pure. That’s not to say I don’t enjoy it—I love the way it steers, the way you feel so much road surface through your fingers. You’d have to kneel down and lick the tarmac to get more details. There’s a huge pleasure to be had, just feeling the front wheels unravel a corner into a straight. But the 911’s delicate steering is connected by some kind of German voodoo to the throttle pedal, and on Anglesesy’s fast, sweeping, corners, the slightest change in the position of your right foot—I mean, the merest whiff of a millimeter of travel—and the nose will suddenly widen, tighten, widen, tighten. Its like a lesson in 911 chassis dynamics, exaggerated for the sake of classroom clarity. And its that sensitivity, combined with the film of water on the track, that makes you pause for thought before you go long with your right leg, and extend the 3.6 liter twin turbo flat six and its 522bhp. There’s no stamping or yanking today—it is all about fingers, tippy toes and buttocks.

But I always felt the GT2 was one teensy indiscretion away form the barrier while hot lapping. I just felt fearful. Yes, elevated, intense, wide eyed, and happy, but nervous enough to drive back to pits after just a handful of laps. All this to the detriment of any joy you might derive form the steering, the perfect gearbox, the mind blowing acceleration, the handling; all these things you notice is a lesser Porsche. The GT2 might be the ultimate 911, but give me a GT3 any day.

PORSCHE 911S

These five cars might have been loosely grouped together as couples, but the 911 is a sports car. In fact, the 911 defines sports car, and redefines it every evolution. The standard 911 gets an invitation because, altogether the 997 model designation hasn’t changed, and the car has been very heavily reworked There are new, direct- injection engine that both increases peak outputs and significantly reduce fuel consumption and therefore CO2 emissions. This S produces 385bhp- up 35bhp- and nails 60mph in 4.5 seconds and 100mph in under ten, but returns 27.7 mpg and emits just 240g/km. Porsche has done every other car here a favor by showing that the fast car has a future, but it has also set a standard that will be hard to match. There’s also the option of Porsche’s new Doppelkupplungsgetriebe seven- speed twin- clutch gearbox. Our test car totaled a mighty $86,221; much went on cosmetics, but the major chassis options that influenced how it drove are the rear LSD, PASM adjustable damping and 20mm lower suspension for $753 and the ceramic brakes for $6349. Sorry about all the tech and prices, but 911s are so endlessly, deliciously configurable that its important to define exactly what it is you are driving before you describe it.

You need a circuit’s long straights to properly explore the new engine and ‘box’. The former is a little guttural at lower engine speeds but the noise resolves into a rich, deep, deafening mechanical blare at full effort, accompanied by an absurd level of thrust that the last- generation Turbo would have struggled to match. The PDK transmission is magnificent, nailing the smooth/ fast balance better than any other similar system. And while you could learn to live those wheels- mounted button shifter, there’s no question that paddles work better. Even after four days I still found myself consciously looking for the button mid- corner, then thinking about which way to push it; no good in a car this quick.

Lately we have seen many SUVs being released from all the great manufacturers. The SUV of a company is meant to be tough and also proves to be a difficult job for the manufacturer in designing it. Designing an SUV is not an easy task. Keeping in mind all the on road and off road challenges an SUV faces. So an SUV is about the toughest engine and the greatest suspension and traction the company has to offer. One of the great releases from a company is going to be Porsche Cayenne. We have not seen it yet in the market but the former Cayenne has proved what Porsche is capable of.The Porsche Cayenne gives you quite an honorable pride with such great and manly looks. The Cayenne being a Porsche SUV has the family image in it as being an heir. The lights of the Cayenne have been redesigned and given some touches to give out a crystal look. The new Cayenne is much lighter than the previous due to frequent use of aluminum in the body. The rear window is more slanted than before and gives a more aero dynamic body to the SUV. The rear lights have been made bigger, the company extending these to the tailgate.

Performance of the Cayenne hasn’t been ignored at all. It is rumored that the V8 to be used in the Panamera will also be used for the SUV too. This gives the Cayenne a V8 engine modified to suit the SUV’s needs. The new Cayenne like previous ones will be offered in 5 different types. These will be the basic, Cayenne S, Cayenne GTS , Cayenne Turbo and lastly the elite edition the Cayenne Turbo S. The engines in these will range from V6 to V8, giving out horse power from 310 to 580 respectively. This SUV will definitely make a mark on the market. And will prove to be a tough competition. ‘’PORSCHE PANAMERA’’

Well in this era getting a Grand Tourer is quite difficult as every company is striving to win the battle of the supercars and win the market over their competitors. But the true companies are trying to improve all the aspects of their firms in the time of recession. Don’t you think it has been quite a while since we saw a Grand Tourer from Porsche?

Well yes you might have guessed it by now Porsche has decided to launch its luxury sedan into the wild market. This sedan has been named as Porsche Panamera.

The Panamera represents its sister cars like 911 and Boxster and the designing has been done much like them. The Panamera has been carved out to make a four seater sedan with ample of space for the seating. The back of the cars like the 911 and the Boxster come down like that of a fast back. One of the family related features is the front side air intake and the fog light placement. The lights this time look a different than the previous cars and resemble a more edgy look.

The engine that comes with a Porsche Panamera is a naturally aspired V8 producing 395 hp at 6500 RPM. This can also be increased when customers choose the Turbo version of the Panamera. The Turbo version also comes with aerodynamics with active control along with adjustable rear spoiler for better road performance. The transmission provided with the basic versions is a 6-speed manual gear transmission. Optionally you can apply for a 7-speed double clutch gearbox. The Panamera Turbo already comes with a 7-speed double clutch system. Traction is provided by a Porsche Traction Management system. This makes the Panamera a beast in the world of sedans. So you better keep your purses ready because once after its release you won’t be able to resist!

The release of a supercar is quite a big day. Almost every journalist of every car magazine tries to arrive at the scene first to get a good story and a closer look at what a company has to offer. Along with that the entrance and production of that car is also a very big moment. One of the big moment creators ever is the Porsche Carrera GT. This long awaited supercar does not disappoint the onlookers.  And believe me Porsche has done a hell of a job creating this baby.

The design as always expected by Porsche is so awesome that you can keep on looking at it without getting bored. The base design and wheel base is like that of a Ferrari Enzo. The Carrera GT is being offered in 5 different colors. The gear knob has been made by beach wood resembling that of the Porsche 917. A carbon fiber gear knob is also available as an option.  The interior is made of soft leather. Included in is a Bose sound system. Navigation system is also included along with storage drive.  The ignition key is placed on the left as always by Porsche.

Along with this are side air inlets and air dams which help to cool the engine enabling it to produce up to 612 bhp. The engine is covered by a rear carbon fiber hood. An automatic rear wing spoiler has been included which deploys on speeds above 70 mph.  The Carrera GT is able to reach speed from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds and achieving its top speed of 205 mph just after it. By the looks and performance of the Carrera GT, one would definitely say:” Job Well Done!”

CAYENNE 2008 VARIANTS A KILLER PUNCH FROM PORSCHE DECK

When the Porsche Cayenne was revealed 4 years ago Porsche enthusiasts cried profanity. Porsche should not develop sport-utilities, they claimed, Porsche should construct only sports cars. But buyers won the ballot. Cayenne’s sense of balance of fashion, presentation, and sport-utility virtues were convincing, and it rapidly became a triumph story for the diminutive manufacturer of renowned sports cars. When Porsche revealed Cayenne as a 2003 sculpt, executives told they predicted to sell 20,000 of the SUVs a year. Without a doubt, these projections were unadventurous. For 2008, the Porsche Cayenne has been extensively enhanced, and Porsche is assigning it a second-generation variant. We can testimony the motivating dynamics of the 2008 Cayenne versions are to a large extent enhanced compared the high bar of rating figures set by the older models.

 Porsche Cayenne 2008

Holding headlines is the 2008 Porsche Cayenne Turbo, daring 500 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of twisting moment from its new-fangled twin-turbocharged 4.8-liter V8 and proficient of propelling this SUV from 0-60 mph in a mere 5.1 seconds. It’s quicker and more vibrant than the older Cayenne Turbo. But the superior gain, in our view, is with the opening variant, which comes with an innovative 3.6-liter V6 that pounces 290 horsepower and 283 pound-feet of torque, talented of sprinting it from 0 to 60 mph in much less than 8 seconds.

GT2 IS A TRUE REVOLUTION IN THE PORSCHE 911 TAG

Talking about the smack of wheels in the newest Porsche 911, the GT tag serves for everything but Gran Turismo. Assured Trauma is further like it, at smallest amount when the monster is not delighted with due proficiency and prudence. The new 911 GT2 joins together elements of the GT3 (inconsequential mechanism, rear-wheel transmission) and the Turbo (turbocharged engine, constancy control), ensuing in the fastest road build Porsche ever.

PORSCHE 911 GT2
We did not witness the 200 mph. But we out accelerated just about all motorized piece of equipment that crossed our itinerary. Over the 1st 50 yards or so, the 530 horse power motor sprints up its performance, With the 3175-pound GT2 is in fact not quite as quick as the 480 horse power unit, 3572-pound 911 Turbo Tip-tronic. Acceleration From 0 to 62 mph procures just a dead heat at 3.7 seconds each… And by the limits these autobahn monsters pass the 185-mph mark, the GT2 will have chiseled out a remarkable lead. On damp track conditions, the GT2 will spin its wheels in 1st and 2nd gear, particularly with the engines revving between 2200 and 4500 rpm, but when the maximum torque of 502 lb-ft comes in it just starts to slide to smoothen your drive.
